Summary: Jacob watches TV the proper way
Jacob walked into the den to find it empty with the TV playing to itself. “Thought the kids were in here,” he said to himself. He moved over to the TV and reached down to turn it off.
“Leave it!” said a voice from behind the sofa.
“But you can't see it from there,” Jacob said.
Mark looked round the corner at his father. “We can see just fine,” he said. “The kids are watching too.”
“From behind the sofa??” Jacob repeated.
Mark nodded. “Come join us?”
Jacob looked at the TV as a metal voice shrieked “EXTERMINATE!” He laughed. “I see… Dr Who eh? That explains the sofa.”
Mark grinned. “Is there any other way to watch it?”
Jacob shook his head and joined his son and grandchildren behind the sofa. “Nope,” he said. “There isn't.”
Selmak shifted slightly. ~Okay I don't understand… why watch TV from behind the sofa?~
~It's just the way Dr Who is watched Sel… its designed to be scary for the kids but with humour in it for the adults. Mark and Sam watched from behind the sofa when I was based in the UK when they were little. It's just something we've always done.~
~So from behind here…~
~You're safe…~ Jacob laughed. ~They can't get you if they can't see you.~
